Design and Costings
The optimum location for solar panels is somewhere south facing with a clear horizon from east to west. Rarely, however do we find this perfect scenario so panels can be installed on different roof aspects to collect sunlight throughout the day to make solar could beneficial for you.
There are several options for mounting the solar panels:
Ground mounted – ideal in paddocks or part of a large garden.
On a pitched roof – rails mounted to the roof with the panels fitted on top.
On a flat roof – a mounting frame to hold the panels placed on the roof secured by ballast.
In roof (integrated) – panels fitted flush with the roof then tiled around.
Other options such as vertical panels on walls and solar fences.
The price for installation can vary according due to the following factors:
- The system size – larger systems generate more electricity but cost more upfront.
- The capacity of battery storage – more storage capacity costs more initially but will reduce ongoing costs.
- The location of equipment, close to the incoming supply is ideal.
- Installation complexity.
- The scale and complexity of any required scaffolding.
- The quality and capability of the equipment, we prefer working with higher end products.
You can claim the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) which pays you for any surplus electricity exported to the grid.
Take advantage of 0% VAT on full PV installation and retrofit battery storage until 31 st March 2027.
